The opaline holds the light and lets it out slowly, soft and faintly pearly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe piece has only one colour, repeated in every element. That's why it's full of detail and still looks clean.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eOpaline is a milky, translucent glass. It diffuses light instead of reflecting it. The roses on the central sphere and the leaves around each dish were shaped one by one with pincers, while the glass was still hot. No two are exactly alike.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe composition grows from a central stem, broken by a sphere covered in roses. Curved, solid-section arms reach out from it, each ending in a tall, flared tulip cup resting on a leaf-edged dish. At the top, a crown of leaves and pastorals closes the piece and gives it lightness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe opaline softens the light from the source. The result is a warm, even glow with faint pearly reflections. It feels calm, never glaring.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe techniques, the glass mixtures and the hands that worked them have all changed since then. Today this chandelier couldn't be recreated as it is.
