The chalice-shaped lamp holders that terminate each arm are blown separately, their profile; wide at the rim, narrowing toward the base, designed to hold and distribute light from within rather than simply surrounding the bulb. The tapered tips that accent the ends of the arms add vertical momentum to the composition, directing the eye upward and outward simultaneously.
