There are chandeliers that simply light a room. And then there are pieces that turn light into a texture, something you feel on the walls before you notice where it comes from.
Cera keeps the Venetian vocabulary to its essentials: a slender stem, a ring of curved arms, a sequence of soft volumes. Nothing is added for effect, and that restraint is exactly what gives it presence.
Craft and technique
Every element is mouth-blown and shaped by hand by master Italian glassmakers, using the soffiatura a bocca technique. In the lattimo version, the glass is worked as a dense, opaque milk white, a colour with a long history in Italian art glass and one of the most difficult to keep even and luminous across so many separate pieces. The crystal version uses clear glass, where the precision of each curve and joint remains fully visible.
Structure and composition
The stem alternates ribbed baluster forms, each slightly different in proportion, leading down to a shallow central bowl. From there the arms rise in a continuous S-curve to flared padelline that hold each light, while a ceiling cup and a teardrop finial close the composition at both ends. Brass-finish connectors mark the joints with a discreet warm line.
Light behaviour
In lattimo, the glass does not sparkle: it absorbs and softens, giving the whole body of the chandelier a velvety glow when lit and a sculptural presence when off, matte and warm like white candle wax. It is this quality that gives the piece its name: Cera. In crystal, light passes through the arms and stem, drawing the outline of the piece in reflections across ceiling and walls.
Scale and installation
Available from 3 to 12 lights, from ø 55 cm to ø 110 cm, the same design can follow a project from smaller rooms to large reception spaces while keeping a consistent language throughout the house. As each piece is made to order, the drop length and technical specifications can be adapted to the ceiling height and to the electrical standards of the destination country.
Note: slight variations in tone, thickness and shape between elements are the natural result of hand-blown glass. They are the signature of authentic Italian craftsmanship, not a defect.
