A piece of clear glass made in Murano in the 1930s or 1940s, curved like a shell. On its surface, soft diamond ribbing catches the light and softens it.
It looks simple from afar. Up close, it's all texture, and a small piece of history.
This is antique glass, worked in Murano with the techniques of the time. The ribbing draws soft, rounded diamonds across the whole surface, with no sharp edges. The thickness of the glass changes from point to point, and that's what gives it its gentle sparkle. A rhomboid pattern like this one is typical of Murano production in the 1930s and 1940s.
The glass has a curved, half-cylinder profile, which is why it's perfect for a wall sconce. The pattern runs across the whole surface, from edge to edge, with no interruptions.
Its shape was made for a sconce, and that's where it works best. But it can also be used in other applications, such as a custom lamp or a lighting project designed around it. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll look at it together.
With the light on, the ribbing multiplies the reflections without breaking the light. The light comes out diffused and warm, with soft points of brightness across the glass and on the wall.

Note: small differences in the ribbing, thickness and tint of the glass come from hand-working and from the age of the piece. They're a mark of authenticity, not defects.
