An original vintage Vistosi coffee table, made in the 1970s by one of Murano's great names. Not a reissue, not a reproduction: the real piece, with its history. Its frame isn't metal or wood. It's glass.

Purple rods trace the outline of the table, and brass corners hold them together. Two clear tiers complete it, and the colour does the rest.

Craft and technique

Vistosi is one of the historic glassworks of Murano, known for its bold use of colour in design. Here the glass becomes structure: thick, solid rods in purple glass form the edges of the table. The colour runs through the whole thickness of the glass and changes with the light, from lilac to deep amethyst.

The table has a rectangular shape, with a simple and precise geometry. The purple rods draw the edges and the legs. At each corner, a brass profile joins them and closes the line. The clear glass top rests on the frame, and a second tier below adds depth and a place to display books or objects.

In daylight, the rods glow from within and throw soft purple reflections on the floor and on the glass. In the evening, under warm light, the colour deepens and the brass warms up. It's a piece that changes with the hours of the day.

Note: small variations in the colour and thickness of the glass, and the natural patina of the brass, come from hand-working and from the age of the piece. They're a mark of authenticity, not defects.
