Craft and technique

Every element is blown and shaped by hand in the furnace by Murano glassmakers. Gold leaf is worked into the clear glass, so it catches the light at every turn. The arms are twisted (ritorti), and the flowers and leaves are modelled with pincers, one by one, while the glass is still hot. The green is added in threads along the leaves, in the centre of each flower and in small drops across the piece.

A clear central stem comes down from the ceiling, crowned at the top by a ring of leaves. Midway, a wide bowl with a diamond pattern holds the arms, which curve outward and upward. Around them, long stems carry daisy-like flowers, while large curled leaves, edged in green, frame the whole composition. At the bottom, a drop-shaped pendant with green details closes the line.

With the light on, the clear glass and the gold leaf multiply the reflections. The green glows softly among them, giving the light a warm, lively quality. It's a chandelier that sparkles, but never feels cold.

Note: small differences in the shape of the flowers and leaves, in the gold leaf and in the green details come from hand-working and from the age of the piece. They're a mark of authenticity, not defects.
