Seven triedri per sconce. Seven clear triangular prisms individually mouth-blown by a maestro vetraio on the island of Murano, then assembled into a column that looks sculpted rather than built. The triedri technique is among the most celebrated in Venetian glassmaking tradition: each three-sided element works as a multiplying mirror, catching light and throwing it back in unpredictable directions. When lit, this sconce doesn't simply illuminate the wall — it fills it with shifting white and silver refractions, clean and precise, like cut crystal seen from within.
Clear glass is a statement in itself. Where coloured glass interprets the light, clear glass reveals it in its purest form. The prismatic surfaces of these triedri work as natural prisms: splitting, bending, and scattering every photon that passes through them. The result changes with the hour, the season, and the source — always different, always luminous, never static.
The chrome-plated metal frame is a deliberate choice. Chrome and clear glass share the same vocabulary: reflective, precise, uncompromising. Together they form a silhouette that is both rigorously contemporary and rooted in a glassmaking tradition centuries deep.
A detail rarely found at this level: dual mounting orientation. Vertical, for a tall, columnar presence. Horizontal, for a wider extension and a more contemporary reading. The same sconce, two completely different expressions — a flexibility designed for those who approach space with intention.
At H 12⅜ in × W 8⅛ in, depth 4¼ in (32 × 21 × 11 cm), they occupy a precise scale: tall enough to command attention, contained enough to work without vast wall space. They perform in corridors, bedrooms, living rooms, and entrance halls — and even better in hospitality contexts where light carries a deliberate narrative role.
Both sconces are in perfect working condition; slight, almost invisible signs of aging on the frame are the only trace of time — and the surest proof of authenticity.
Note: As with any hand-blown glass piece, slight variations in tone between individual triedri — and between the two sconces — are not defects but signatures of manufacture.
