The glass carries two distinct qualities working in tandem: internal streaks that run through the material like veins through stone, and a lattimo stain — the milky, opalescent finish rooted in centuries of Venetian glassmaking — that softens the surface and diffuses the light from within. No two drops are identical. No two sconces are identical. That is precisely the point.

The lattimo technique has a history worth knowing. Developed in Murano as an attempt to replicate the appearance of Chinese porcelain, it became one of the defining signatures of Venetian decorative glass — prized for its luminous opacity, its capacity to hold colour without losing translucency, and the way it seems to glow from the inside when lit.
