One hundred and thirty-eight poliedri in white alabastro glass. Each one individually mouth-blown by a maestro vetraio. Each one a multifaceted geometric form — a polyhedron — that catches, bends, and redistributes light across its surfaces in a way that flat or round glass simply cannot. Assembled together, they form a mass of quiet brilliance: dense, sculptural, and alive with internal movement every time the light shifts.

White alabastro is not ordinary white glass. It is one of the rarest and most demanding formulations in the Murano tradition — a glass that replicates the luminous opacity of alabaster stone, holding the light within its body rather than simply transmitting it. The result is a warmth and depth that clear or lattimo glass cannot achieve: when lit, each poliedro seems to glow from within, as if the light originates inside the material rather than passing through it. One hundred and thirty-eight of them, together, produce an effect that is genuinely difficult to describe and immediately arresting in person.

The supporting frame is in gold and brass-coloured metal — a choice that connects this piece to the grand tradition of Venetian decorative arts, where gilded metalwork and handblown glass have always worked in dialogue. The brass elements that serve as glazing beads show a natural softening of their finish over time — patina, not deterioration — which only adds to the material depth of the piece.
