Hundreds of glass bars, each one fitted into the next. Inside every bar, a veil of 24k gold catches the light.

Craft and technique

Every bar was worked by hand in the furnace by Murano glassmakers, with 24k gold leaf laid into the glass. The bars were then interlocked one by one, row after row, to form a continuous surface of glass. It's slow, precise work, and today it's no longer possible to reproduce: the techniques, the skills and the time it required belong to another era.

The chandelier has a clean, rectangular box shape. A brushed brass frame outlines the edges, and thin brass rods hold each row of glass bars in place. The glass covers the four sides and the bottom completely, so from below you see a single, shimmering surface. Rigorous geometry outside, rich texture inside: that's what makes it so strong.

With the light on, each bar becomes a small source of light. The gold leaf warms the glow, and the rows of glass multiply the reflections across the room. The light comes out soft and golden, never harsh.

Note: small differences in the shape of the bars and in the gold leaf come from hand-working and from the age of the piece. They're a mark of authenticity, not defects.
