Glassblowing, clarity and material
Thirty-six palmette elements, each individually mouth-blown by master glassmakers using mouth blown. The choice of clear glass is not a neutral decision, it is a precise one. Transparent Murano glass is among the most technically demanding to produce well: without colour to mask inconsistencies, every variation in thickness, every internal bubble, every surface irregularity is visible. The quality of the glassblowing is, in other words, fully exposed.
When lit, clear palmette behave differently from coloured or opaque glass. Rather than diffusing light in a particular tone, they refract and redirect it, scattering points of brightness across surrounding surfaces, catching the movement of air in the room, responding to changes in natural light throughout the day in ways that coloured glass simply cannot. The result is a chandelier that is never quite the same twice, and that rewards sustained attention in a way that more overtly decorative pieces rarely do.
Structure and composition
36 elements arranged on a two-tier-inspired radial composition supported by a gold-painted metal frame, completed by a clear Murano glass base that anchors the silhouette at its centre. Dimensions and lighting
Three E14 sockets provide a clean, contained light output well suited to the refractive behaviour of clear glass. Dimmable LED bulbs are recommended; at lower intensities, the refraction pattern of the palmette elements becomes more concentrated and precise, producing a particularly refined ambient effect.
Note: As with every authentic piece of mouth-blown Murano glass, minor variations in the thickness and surface character of individual elements are an intrinsic characteristic of the handcrafting process; not a defect, but the evidence of a genuinely handmade object.
